Introduction
What is Pre-Production?
Pre-production is a film production process in which the crew plan and prepare for filming an upcoming production. It is a requirement for creating a film, as, without it, the film would be poor and unprepared. The process requires heavy amounts of work, you need to fill out documents, manage your budget to buy equipment and hire your staff.
Documentation.
There are hundreds of pre-production documents, which are required before you can begin filming. They plan out numerous things, such as scripts, facilities, and schedules, etc. The amount of time spent on the pre-production process may heavily affect the quality of the film. This process plays an important role in creating the production, it wouldn't be successful without it.
Processes.
The process of creating a film can seem complex. It needs to be broken down multiple times for it to be worked on as a team. While the main pre-production process should be followed in a specific order, the subsections of it can be created all at once with enough crew members.
Finance
Financing is a vital requirement when creating a film. A budget should be set and stuck to. Your budget will pay for your equipment, staff paychecks, and software. A production company can have a low or high budget, and a higher budget can lead to better quality equipment and staff.
Logistics
Each company should have a plan as to how they will successfully go through with their project. Successful companies will ensure that they have a plan and a backup plan just in case things go wrong. Staff can be hired to sort out the logistics of the production crew and keep the whole thing running smoothly.
Regulatory Requirements
Companies have to follow a set of rules, these rules are put together to protect workers in their workplace. This involves health and safety, following the law, ensuring the contract you set are fair and keeping out of international problems.
